Project Description

Vietgone

A benefit reading for the National Network for Immigrant Rights

Presented at ChaShaMa, 320 West 23rd St

Monday, May 20, 2019

“We see history repeating itself between the Vietnamese refugee crisis and those fleeing Syria and the Middle East. We know that the Vietnamese-American community would not be where we are now without the aid of those governments and organizations that worked to allow us sanctuary and a chance for our families to have a new start.”

Our inaugural event raised over $1000 and hosted a sold out, standing room only audience. Initially intended as a one off event, Vietgone became a catalyst to continue the work and forge a future as a collective
